Time flies.

Is it almost February already? Whoaaa. I am still trying to get organized with what I want to get accomplished this year. Been working on cleaning out the basement to make it a scrapbooking room, along with organizing my Arbonne office. Thinking about taking some Graghic Art Design classes, just so because it is interesting to me. Praying about a missions trip this year. {Always} praying for contentment where I am. Watching Becca turning into a teenager before my eyes is an amazing process. I am so grateful for the gift of life, family, and friendship. And Scrabble. What a brilliant invention.

Our Sofa Drama

It's late, but since I haven't posted in awhile, I wanted to write a quick update of my sofa drama.

I have had a saga with our living room furniture that has been going on for almost year now. Three, yes, three years ago we bought new living room furniture. It was a big deal for us, I remember it well! Thankfully we also purchased a 5 year warranty, which I would normally have never done. So, fast forward two and a half years (early last summer)we started seeing the beginnings of tears in our leather sofa. We waited until the actual tear occured (per the warranty) and weeks later a leather specialist came to look at it. The coverage people refused to fix the sofa, saying it was a defect, something about hide scars, yada yada. They referred us back to the place we bought it. On and on this went. Each person referred us to someone else, finally they said they no longer carried this manufacturer (I know why!), but would order us another one from Italy, and it would take a couple months to get in. So as our sofa continued to tear all over, we continued to wait. First it would come in Nov., then Dec., then January.

This month I started calling, calling and calling more. No one returned my calls until I threatened to call the BBB. They called me back the next day and said amazingly (rolling my eyes) it had just arrived the day before. They scheduled delivery the next week. The day before delivery I got a call from the company telling me the sofa was damaged in delivery (!!!). It was kind of funny in a not so funny way how each rep told me a different story.

This whole ordeal may have been a blessing in disguise, as we received almost full credit to choose another sofa set. They let us exchange the sofa, chair, and ottoman. Today they delivered our new living room furniture. In the end I am very happy because after three years we get a re-do, brand new furniture and we are praying THIS set will last us for many, many stress-free years! I will try to take some pictures and post them soon. :-)

14 years of wedded bliss <3

Yesterday Neil and I celebrated our fourteenth wedding anniversary. On one hand, it seems that we have been married forever. On the other hand, being married for that long seems to imply that we are well, old or on our way to it. I look at my friend Meg, who is 21 and getting married and think, was I really that young when I got married?! Indeed, I was. But hey, getting old with Neil is something that I look forward to.

I am so thankful that even while we were young and immature, God brought us together and has continued to strengthen our marriage through all the ups and downs of life, parenthood, ministry and more. We have been able to grow up together. I am so grateful for Neil, he is an awesome husband and man of God. He makes my life sweet.

Next year we celebrate the big 1-5. This means a trip of some sort! We are thinking about a cruise, since we have never done that before. For our 10 year, we went to an all inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. Fun, but a waste of money since we don't drink (which is the main perk of the all inclusive). Being as today is the first day of the new year, I have been doing some thinking about personal goals for 2008. Mine are currently just floating around in my head, but I need to put them down on paper. I was listening to a radio station today and someone called in about resolutions, saying how they don't make them because the resolutions will just get broken anyway. I thought about that, and think it is a cop out. So basically she was not giving herself anything to aim for at all. I know that I may not achieve all my goals, but I want to aspire to something. Speaking of, I am watching the new Biggest Loser right now. Wow, this show is so inspiring. I love watching other people work out and I am amazed at what happens when people work out like, 24/7! Working out, that is another one of my 2008 goals. I started aerobics in the fall, and I don't want to slack off on that this winter which is easy to do.
