Treasure Hunting

People will say to me many times, I need to go garage saling with you!  As if I hold the magic key to which all good garage sales arrive, haha.  The honest truth is simply that I go to a lot of sales.  Every weekend if possible.  I go to a lot of bad sales in order to find the good ones.  If I am not being careful, I miss a lot of good stuff.  Like when I almost passed by a table filled with jeans because the rest of the sale was pricey and I was ready to get outta there. I glanced at the jeans, saw they were my size and asked how much she was asking for the clothes.  When she said 25 cents, I started looking and sure enough, I took home a stack of Banana Republic and Gap jeans for less than a $2.00 total.  That is a lot of fun, but doesn't happen all the time.  Last month I found a sale where the guy bought out a drug store and stocked up on Burt's Bees toothpastes, chapsticks, and lotions for $1 each.  All brand new in unopened packages.  I don't know any other way to make it happen other than to go out every week.  For me it is like a treasure hunt where you never know what you will find.  I always have a list of what I am looking for, and try not to get distracted.

Now what do I do when the garage-saling season is over?  I will tell you tomorrow...
