Dan in Real Life

Just want to recommend this movie to you all. I laughed, I cried. It is one of the most heartwarming, family friendly movies I have seen in a long time. Rent it, buy it, borrow it, you will not regret it. Okay, well, you might but then you will know that we have opposite tastes in movies. Cause for real, I love this movie and plan to own it at some point.

I have reconnected with friends from KC, our past youth group, college, high school, and yes even middle school in the Philippines where I lived for two years! Most recently I am reconnecting with my bff from middle school, Jeni. I love her and am so excited to catch up after so many years. I love this century and all the perks of it. Seriously. I would never have reconnected with her ten years ago and I know this because, I tried to find her with no luck! Love it :-)

This weekend I am on my own since Neil is on a youth retreat. Tomorrow is party day as both Becca and Evan both have birthday parties to go to. Gotta go get some birthday gifts in the morning. Tried to talk Becca into giving Arbonne . . . what 12 yo girl wouldn't love some fabulous FYI lipgloss, etc? But, because she is my child she rolls her eyes and sighs, "Mom, I just want to go to Claire's". Ggrr, no appreciation for the finer things in life! (wink) I do have flashbacks to elementary school when my mom made me give plaques that she made out of Precious Moments pictures, and hair ribbons and bows she made. So I get it. You just don't appreciate what you see all the time. Knowing that I inherited my mother's entrepeneurial (sp?) spirit in spite of all that, there is still hope for my Becca.

I have been playing with paint today in between well, life. I also was able to scrapbook awhile. Of course I got it all done because my I allowed my house to just be messy. While the bigger kids played outside, Ava made a mess with some paint of her own. Art is therapy for me. Seriously.

Spring has arrived, or wait, is it summer?

The new season is here and I am loving it.
This weekend was hot though!
Love seeing the kids playing outside and running around.
Went to Atlanta, Georgia for a weekend of Arbonne education/inspiration.
Came home fired up and loving the new products.

Happy Birthday Becca!

National Champions . . . sweet!

We watched the KU game last night, and it was a late night for everyone. Jim Capehart (a friend from church) and TJ, a kid from our youth group came over to watch with us. I think it was one of the best games I have ever seen, I hope our kids remember it for years to come.

I remember watching the last time KU won the championship. The year was 1988, we were at Ronny and Susan Metskers house after YFC Club. Neil nor his parents remember me being there at all, which for the record makes me feel quite special. Gee, there must have been like 15 people there, LOL. We were crowded around the TV watching the game, and when they won I remember running around, outside, screaming, laughing, annoying the neighbors I am sure. Neil remembers all that, too... just not me being there. Whatever. Good thing he noticed me at some point or else we wouldn't be married, right!


This boy is always ready with a smile, seriously.


Oh the tension! I wanted to get a better picture of these two, huddled up together arm in arm, watching. This was the best I could do.




Even Ava got in on the action. I couldn't make her stay in bed with all the chaos. At some point in the game she stripped her pj's off. No one objected, we were too busy.



We were freaking out out when Chalmers made the shot to tie the game!


What an awesome game.
