Are you one of those people who hate a contrived holiday to celebrate something you should be doing on a regular basis anyway?

Not me. I love any chance to receive extra love and well, chocolate. I love giving my kids a Valentine with candy when they wake up. I love going on a date with my hubby, although it won't be happening this year. We have been spoiled enough recently with time alone together, so this evening it will be the family together. Which is also cool. Hmm, maybe I can get them to play some games together? Speed Scrabble perhaps?

New furniture, aahh.

I love my new couch and chair. They are comfy, comfy, comfy and as you can see my children agree. :-)

Who me, sick? Yes indeed.

I have been sick all day. My head is aching, and I really should be in bed now but of course, I can't sleep. {TMI Alert} My morning started with throwing up, and then it went, well, the other way. The snow has been falling most of the day, which is nice since it has been so miserably cold. School let out early today, and I suspect the kids will be home tomorrow again. I am just praying that I feel better tomorrow so I can function.

Does anyone sell on Ebay? I have begun taking loads of pictures of things (mostly clothes so far) to sell on Ebay. The majority is Becca's Limited Too clothes, really. Now if I can take some good pictures to show off her goods! If anyone does sell on ebay regularly, and if you have any advice . .. give it to me. As I am starting I am seeing that this will take more time than originally thought so I do want to make it worth my time, ya know.

Well, that's all for now. I am off to bed after I take some medicine!

Maureen emailed me this awhile back and I never did it. Then Jennifer (not sure how to make it a link?) at http://www.houseofjones.com/ sent me this mimi. I guess I should just do it, eh.

1. If we are talking and you happen to say a line from a song I know, I will most likely start singing it in my head. If I am comfortable enough with you, I will probably sing it outloud in the middle of the conversation.

2. I love to dance, some years that was the only exercise I got all year.

3. My younger sister and I share a birthday, we are exactly 7 years apart.

4. I love rollercoasters but that is the only thing I enjoy about amusement parks.

5. I had my last two children with a midwife and no drugs (in a hospital). Most amazing experience ever.

6. I am addicted to word games, specifically Scrabble. I am currently avoiding scrapulous.com where I could literally spend all day playing. (Right Chris?)

7. I want to start the primaries over and find all new presidential candidates. I don't like any of them in either party. Seriously. (Sorry Jill, I know how you love your Obama)

Leader's Retreat

{Stopping at one of my favorite stores on the way . . .}

This weekend Neil and I are off to Ocean City, NJ for a youth leaders retreat. My mom was able to come in and watch our kids so I can go. I have had the best year ever, as far as youth ministry goes. So far I have been to every retreat and I have only missed a couple Wednesday nights due to sick kids. Whoohoo, I love that. My small group of eighth graders are moving on to high school next year, which makes me so sad. I feel like it is just part of youth ministry in general, but more specifically middle school ministry. That is, you bond and then get to watch them from afar as they mature more in the high school. It is bittersweet. Love watching them continue to grow, mature, and deepen their relationships with friends and Christ. Yet sad that others have taken my place (and rightfully should) as their leaders and mentors. On the other hand, I get a whole new batch of girls to get to know. And so it goes!
