Evan turned twelve yesterday. We woke him up as tradition calls for for breakfast in bed. Then Neil surprised him by taking him out of school yesterday for lunch. Then last night we made him think he was going to church as usual with Neil, but Neil surprised him by taking him to a movie (2012). Alone time with kids is always a good thing. This Friday night he is having some kids over for a BD sleepover, so that should be fun. For him, anyway. ;)
In typical fashion, we forgot candles until it was cake time... so we worked with what we had and figured, at least we have the year for his cake top! lol
And by the way, his choice for his BD cake was a chocolate caramel cake that is a recipe of my MIL's. It is a favorite of ours, so yummy and rich and delicious. I am going to post it for you so you can try it out sometime.
